Job Summary:
The Merchandising Planner is responsible for analyzing and planning merchandise assortments for our retail stores to maximize sales and profitability. This role requires a keen understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and inventory management. The Merchandising Planner collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop effective strategies and execute merchandising plans that drive business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to develop comprehensive merchandise assortments that align with the company's overall business strategy.
2. Collaborate with the Buying team to ensure appropriate product selection and optimal inventory levels in alignment with sales forecasts.
3. Develop and maintain accurate merchandise plans, including sales forecasts, inventory targets, and product launch timelines.
4. Monitor performance metrics such as sell-through rates, inventory turnover, and gross margin to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
5. Conduct regular store visits to gather feedback on product performance and identify areas for improvement or adjustment in the merchandise assortment.
6. Collaborate with Visual Merchandising teams to ensure effective product presentation and visual merchandising strategies that align with brand guidelines.
7. Coordinate with Supply Chain teams to ensure timely and efficient product replenishment, minimizing stockouts and overstocks.
8. Conduct competitor analysis to identify market trends, pricing strategies, and assortment gaps, and recommend appropriate actions to stay competitive.
9. Collaborate with Marketing teams to develop promotional strategies that align with merchandise plans and drive customer engagement.
10. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities to anticipate changes and make proactive recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Merchandising Planner or similar role within the retail industry.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
4. Proficient in using merchandise planning software and MS Office Suite.
5. Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
6. Solid understanding of retail math and inventory management principles.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
8. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
